This ''Update Needed'' template should be used on an article that has been identified as needing information provided within a product not yet used within the article (and possibly currently under BattleTechWiki's [[Policy:Moratorium|moratorium policy]]). Doing so will also automatically place the article within the [[:Category:Sources needing updates|Sources needing updates]] category.

Please do not add it to articles until after the [[Policy:Moratorium|moratorium period]] has passed as there is no reason why the missing information cannot be included in the article directly (instead of the tag).

Also, please refrain from adding this tag unless you are positively sure that the new source contains new, meaningful information on the subject at hand.
